Why Is My Cat Always Hungry? But Skinny

If you are asking yourself why is my cat always hungry but never skinny, another possible cause could be internal parasites. These little parasites actually feed off of your cat’s food consumption and at times they might not leave behind enough nutrients for your cat to meet the needs. So, these parasites would need to be treated, or else your cat would develop serious health problems. When the parasites start to get rid of the nutrients that your cat has, it would start to think that food is a source of food again. This could eventually lead to obesity and malnutrition and thus the question “why is my cat always hungry but thin”.

Another reason as to why your cat might not be eating right might be because of being lonely. With pets, especially cats, there is always the chance that they might start to wander around due to boredom. Sometimes this can be a good thing because it means your cat will get to explore its surroundings and find ways to occupy itself. However, if your pet stays alone most of the time, it might start to display signs of depression and might start to eat less food.

A third reason as to why your cat might be a bit overweight could be because it is obese. At times like this, it is normal for your pet to gain weight because it is growing up. However, it is also possible for a cat to become obese because it might have been infected by worms. Fleas and ticks usually carry diseases that could potentially damage your cat’s immune system, which then results in the inability to properly digest food and absorb the nutrients from it.

One of the common reasons why a cat might become overweight is if it is not given enough food. Like humans, even animals need proper nutrition in order to grow and develop properly. Just like people, you have to feed your pet with the right amount of food in order for them to grow, develop and maintain their health. As mentioned earlier, if your pet does not get enough food, it will then start to suffer from serious health problems that will greatly affect its ability to survive.

Although there are many factors that might cause obesity in cats, the most common reason as to why it occurs is due to the inappropriate diet being provided by the owners. Owners should know how much their pets should be eating so that they can give them the right amount of nutrition. If you do not provide your pet with the proper amount of food, it will surely accumulate fats and accumulate more weight. This can lead to serious health conditions such as arthritis and osteoarthritis in the end.

Aside from improper feeding, another reason as to why your cat is obese is because of too much food being eaten by it. Felines are highly intelligent creatures and they also use this ability to their advantage. They can choose to eat a big portion of a small food item just to keep themselves filled. Unfortunately, this habit can lead to obesity since they can only digest half of the food at one time. When your cat eats a lot of food and gets very hungry soon after, it might just eat everything in front of it without taking any breaks.

Another reason why your cat might be obese is that it has acquired feline obesity due to breeding. If your pet was bred at a very young age, it might have inherited feline obesity. It is very important that you know if your pet is genetically predisposed to obesity because aside from a medical condition, breeding from an obese mother can also lead to such a condition.

Finally, the last reason why my cat is always hungry is because it has inherited bad habits. If it happens to be a playful cat that loves to jump around the house and play with its toys, then chances are that it might be having a treat before eating. If you see your feline always jumping on the dining table or jump up and down from the couch, then it might be suffering from hyperthyroidism. Other hereditary diseases that can cause obesity include renal failure, thyroid disorder, arthritis, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease among others.
