An Essential Oil For Canker Sores - Get Rid of That Painful Pain

Before we get into essential oil for canker sore remedy, let’s make sure you actually have a canker sore first. Very likely, you will have an extremely painful sore in your mouth, cheeks, or on the roof of your mouth, however you may also have some small sores which aren’t painful as they’re small.

Regardless of whether or not they are painful, they need to be looked at by a medical professional as soon as possible. The reason for this is because these sores could be a sign of herpes or some other form of virus.

Coconut oil

In order to remedy the sore, use the following essential oil for canker sore remedy. If you don’t have one of these essential oils, try using coconut oil pulling. This is easy to do and is cheap. All you have to do is heat up a cup of coconut oil and then apply it to the sore. Keep doing this for several days and your pain should decrease.

You may also use drops of essential oil for canker sore healing if you don’t want to use coconut oil. For most people, these healing oils don’t stay on the body very long, unless they are heavily diluted. If you don’t have much choice, just buy some oregano oil or clove oil and then use those drops directly on the infected area. Do this two times daily and your healing will be quick and effective.

If these remedies don’t work, you can also try using a cotton swab dipped in either tea tree essential oil or coconut oil and then placed directly onto the cankers. Repeat this process as often as necessary until the pain subsides. Make sure you only use the cotton swab on the area and not directly on the sore itself. Be sure to thoroughly rinse the swab off after each application.

Peppermint essential oils

As an alternative to the above remedies, there are also some other excellent natural treatments for canker sore that you should try. A cup of warm water with four drops of peppermint essential oils is a great way to get fast relief.

You can also mix a tablespoon of sandalwood essential oil with two teaspoons of Rosemary oil and use this on the cankers. This mixture can be applied directly to the sore. Make sure to thoroughly dry the mixture off after each application. If you aren’t a fan of the taste of peppermint or the scent of Rosemary, you could also use equal parts of lavender essential oils and mints.

One of the most common reasons people have a bad outbreak of canker sores is because they are not using the right type of mouthwash. Using a mouthwash that is designed for mouth sores can help to shorten the healing process. For best results, try to use a mouthwash that contains tea tree essential oils. Tea tree essential oil such as eucalyptus or marjoram will not just mask the pain, but it will also help to kill the virus. A good example of a mouthwash to use that contains these essential oils is a herbal throat rinse called spearmint leaf or lemon balm mouth rinse.

Mint and eucalyptus oils

Some essential oils to consider for your mouthwash include mint and eucalyptus oils. These oils have antiseptic properties that will help soothe the pain from the sores. Lemon balm essential oils are used to help treat and prevent recurring outbreaks. When used regularly, these essential oils can drastically reduce the severity of the problem.

If you choose to use a mouthwash instead of using essential oils, be sure to store the mouthwash near your toothbrush. This way, the oil will cover up the sores and it will not need to be reapplied as needed. If you apply the essential oil directly to the sores, the oils will not penetrate the skin and will not work as quickly or effectively as they should. Essential oils are very effective in treating sores and preventing the spread of them.
